Merger FAQ

  • What do I need to do now?
The best thing to do now is to make sure we have accurate contact information on file for you – address, phone number, and email address. This will allow us to send you merger-related communications so you can stay informed throughout the process.

You can update your information in the following ways:
    • Send a message in online banking
    • Stop in any location
    • Call one of our bankers
  • Can I still use my checks?
Yes; continue using your existing supply of First National Bank checks until they are gone. When it is time to re-order, please contact your local bank office for assistance. If you order checks through another vendor, you must provide the MidWestOne Bank routing number after July 2022.

  • When will bank name change to MWO?
The bank name will remain First National Bank until our systems conversion, scheduled for July 2022.

  • Can I still use my debit card?
Yes; continue using your existing First National Bank Visa® debit card for the foreseeable future. Your card will eventually be replaced with a MidWestOne branded Mastercard® debit card at a future date.

  • Will I need to change my online banking login?
For now, continue logging in on the website or app as you do today. In early July, we will send you detailed communications on the information you need to know about accessing online & mobile banking after the systems conversion.

  • What will happen to Bill Pay?
For now, continue using Bill Pay as you do today. In early July, we will send you detailed communications on the information you need to know about accessing online & mobile banking after the systems conversion.

  • Will anything about my accounts change?
Your account features and terms will remain the same until systems conversion in July 2022. We are working to identify any product changes and will send you additional communications in June to let you know of any account changes.

  • Do I need to change my direct deposit or automatic payments?
No. If you have direct deposit, ACH, or automatic payments set up on any of your accounts, they will continue to occur as previously established.

  • Will my account number change?
In most cases, checking account numbers will not change. A small number of accounts were identified as having a duplicate account number. To avoid compromising data privacy, we issued new account numbers as necessary. Customers affected by duplicate account numbers were previously notified individually. If you did not receive prior notification, your account numbers were not impacted.

  • How will I access First Line?
You may continue to use First National Bank’s First Line service until July 22. We will send you information on how to access the MidWestOne Bank telephone banking system.
